Blue-Max ® Boiler Gasket
Our Blue-Max ® Boiler Gasket Range
We cut and supply BLUE-MAX® boiler gaskets, manufactured from a proprietary tacky cloth of glass, synthetic fibers, and brass wire, impregnated with a blue elastomer compound. BLUE-MAX® boiler gaskets are engineered to provide all the durability, resilience, and sealing properties of an asbestos gasket, but without the asbestos.
The material is cut and formed to the desired size and shape, then coated with a proprietary Teflon material per MIL SPEC T-27730A. The finished gasket is easily installed and helps to reduce expensive boiler maintenance and downtime.

Tests by major boiler manufacturers confirm that Blue-Max® gaskets seal with zero leakage on steam to 450 psi and on cold-water hydro tests up to 1500 psi. Blue-Max® withstands working temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
BLACK-MAX® Boiler Gaskets
Compared to spiral wound gaskets, Black-Max® seals better and has much better recovery properties. It also weighs less than half of that of a spiral gasket. While spiral gaskets require near-perfect conditions, Black-Max® gaskets seal on rough, pitted surfaces under less compressive load.

Even the slightest leakage is too much, as it increases maintenance and reduces boiler life. Tests by major boiler manufacturers confirm that BLUE-MAX® gaskets seal with zero leakage in steam to 450 psi and can withstand working temperatures up to 500°F. Rubber gaskets simply can’t take that kind of pressure and heat.

BLUE-MAX® gaskets offer installation advantages over other types. Because of the material’s construction and strength, there is no danger of over tightening the gasket and cutting it in half. A BLUE-MAX® gasket naturally lays flat on the flange, and requires no special installation tools, procedures or training. Simply install the gasket and crank it down.

Corresponding round and oval sizes are interchangeable, thanks to the unique properties of the material. It is not necessary to stock separate gaskets to accommodate slight size variations, and chances of a dangerous mismatch are reduced.
